The William D. Kennedy records subseries consists of Ford and Non-Ford automobile and travel publications, 1936-1951 (0.4 cubic ft.), Acc. 727; Correspondence with readers of Ford Times and requests by individuals to write travel stories for the Ford Times or Lincoln-Mercury Times, 1948-1949 (2.4 cubic ft.), Acc. 452 and 727. There is also correspondence to and from prestigious authors including Samuel Hopkins Adams, Margaret Culkin Banning, John Durant, John Marquand, George Palmer Putnam, Kenneth Roberts, Irving Stone, William Hazlett Upson and Irving Wallace. The records also contain correspondence and memorandums regarding the fortieth anniversary of Ford Motor Company as well as the booklet, "These Forty Years", 1941-1948 (0.4 cubic ft.), Acc. 452; work-related and personal correspondence, news releases, reports, and publications arranged alphabetically by subject, 1946-1948 (1.6 cubic ft.), Acc. 452; and information about the Ford Dealers Council and the Public Relations Society of America, 1948-1951 (0.4 cubic ft.), Acc. 727.
